Saudi Arabia has announced precautionary measures and conditions for the 2021 Hajj because of the Corona epidemic, under which 60,000 domestic and foreign pilgrims over the age of 18 will enjoy the blessings of Hajj.
The Saudi Ministry of Health has released a nine-page document outlining various conditions regarding the Hajj, which has been shared in a series of tweets on the official Twitter account linked to the two Haramain Sharifain.
According to them, the pilgrims must be healthy and have not been hospitalized due to any illness till 6 months before the Hajj journey, while it is also necessary to prove this.
Pilgrims will need to be vaccinated on vaccination days and provide a vaccination card issued by their country’s Ministry of Health or authorities as proof. Vaccines must also be on the list of vaccines approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health, according to the Hajj policy.
It should be noted that the Saudi government has approved only Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines for travelers coming to the kingdom. At the same time, it is stipulated that the first dose of the two-dose vaccine should be given to the pilgrims on the first day of Shawwal and the second dose 14 days before they arrive in Saudi Arabia.
Despite this, foreign pilgrims will have to be quarantined for 3 days after their arrival in Saudi Arabia, while the condition of keeping social distance, wearing masks and other precautionary measures will remain for the safety of the pilgrims.
Following are the things that pilgrims should keep in mind:
1- Pilgrims will be required to have all the necessary documents related to their health status, including vaccination cards/certificates, in full condition upon arrival at the Hajj sites.
2- In addition, pilgrims will have to undergo visual screening as a precautionary measure regarding Covid 19.
3- Pilgrims will continue to receive information via social media, tour agencies, and SMS.
4- As a precaution, travel arrangements will be made where each group will have to gather, a separate bus will be allocated for each group, and pilgrims will not be allowed to stand during the journey.
5- The travel bags of all the pilgrims will be sterilized while like last year, this year also the pilgrims will be given sterile pebbles for rummy.
6- According to the instructions issued by the Masjid-ul-Haram, pilgrims will not be allowed to bring food and drink into the mosque and stickers will be affixed to keep a distance of 2 meters between each person.
7- However, if a pilgrim has a high body temperature or is found in a suspicious condition, he or she will be referred to a health ministry specialist.
It should be noted that the Saudi government restricted the Hajj last year due to the Coronavirus epidemic, and only 10,000 Saudi pilgrims took part.
